LIT: excellent cooperation with GEWO

The Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH has a succesfully cooperation with our company GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH for more than ten years: It began with a development project and a few years later developed to a suppliers partnership.

Since the supplieers partnership GEWO provides the Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH as a strategic partner with reliable machined components and assemblies. The GEWO Feinmechanik GmbH reached now the level „Trusted Supplier“  because the parts has successfully implemented improvement measures, good reliability and high quality. That means that the Carl Zeiss SMT GmbH from the locations in Oberkochen and Wetzlar renounces for usual incoming inspection. But this is limited for a year. Because of that the metrological expenses form ZEISS, arised by the against test are reduced.

To get awarded as a „Trusted Supplier“ the supplier must have different criteria. For example: a successfully passed measurement process assessment and a lot of other quality requirements.
Three other companies receives the „Trusted Supplier-certificate“ too. Only companies which are classified as „Managed Supplier“ from the Supply Chain Management from the Business Group Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (BG SMT) in the part of the SUCCESS-programme. The future trusted suppliers insists only specific mechanics suppliers. Hendrik Seliger, conductor from the Supply Chain Management from the BG SMT, explains: “In other material groups we are currently reviewing the implementation of the Trusted Suppliers to act even faster and to control parts which have a high claim of cleaning in the EUV–cleaning room – withoutunpack and checking this parts. This is an important step for the BG SMT.
